How it works?
This Google bases algorithm called reCAPTCHA will ask you to confirm that you are not a robot. reCAPTCHA doesn’t depend solely on text distortions to separate man from machines. Rather it uses a broad range of cues that distinguish humans from bots.:
- Box click
- Image selections
- Disappearing image selections
Checks get harder with the number of clicks that you make. Simple box check click is the simplest one where you only need to mark the box and security will be passed.
However, CAPTCHAs aren't going away just yet. In cases when algorithm is in doubt weather you are human or robot, it will prompt a CAPTCHA to elicit more cues, increasing the number of security checkpoints to confirm the user is valid. Google will ask you to select all images containing different topics, such as: food, water, mountain, chips, street signs....
To make things a bit harder reCAPTCHA can ask you to select images containing certain topic, and while you are doing such these images will disappear. You need to keep selecting images on given topic until there is none left.
After selecting required images you always need to click on Verify button in order to overpass reCAPTCHA
Audio
For the visually impaired, reCAPTCHA provides an audio CAPTCHA option. Your legitimate users will find our regular audio CAPTCHAs easy to solve. Bots on the other hand will get a much harder audio CAPTCHA designed to block them.
